Claire and Stephen at Pittodrie House Hotel
The beautiful setting of Pittodrie House was the venue for the wedding of Claire and Stephen. It was a beautiful sunny day but was quite breezy which made it more pleasant for the guests but wind and sun are not a photographer's best friends but at Pittodrie House, it is always possible to get good photographs. The service was outside and with Benachie in the background, it is hard to think of a better and more scenic and traditional setting. Quite a lot of the guests were from the Glasgow area and were all captivated by the setting. There is nothing much more "Scottish" than a Piper in front of Benachie and the beautiful setting. Norman Fiddes of Pipe March Ltd. always wears the full highland outfit which looks fantastic.

Emma and Mick at Forest of Birse Kirk
On Saturday, I was at one of the most remote churches I have ever worked at. As you drive off the road not far from Finzean, and continuing driving for several miles into a Forest, it is hard to believe that you are on the right road or that a church can be there. I photographed Nicky Walker, the florist to Ritchie many years ago so I knew where I was headed. The church has no power and a generator has to be used. However the setting is beautiful and I was looking forward to working there.

It was extremely windy with gusts up to 60 mph and it was very frustrating not to be able to make use of the stunning scenery. I persevered and managed to get a few shots showing the church and the setting. Sandra who was assisting me was setting the dress and keeping it in place before diving out of the shot to let me capture a shot before the wind caught the dress again.
We tried to find the most sheltered areas and used the side of the church as a windbreak. Click here to see the full set of "formal" images.

Susan, James and star of the show Abby
Friday 25th June was a very special day for three people – Susan, James, and their beautiful 3 year old daughter, Abby. As she put it, she had been looking forward to "our wedding".

Sarah and Mike at St. Machars Cathedral
A beautiful sunny but cold Saturday on the 26th June, David and I were photographing Sarah and Mike's wedding at St. Machars Cathedral, the Botanical Gardens, and then to the Menzies Hotel in Dyce. Click here to see all the images taken.
St. Machars Cathedral is beautiful and although we got some nice shots at the gate and at the door, I think inside is stunning. Even in the doorway looking back out with the arch shape makes a nice shot and is better than looking back in to the dark doorway if you take it close to the doorway outside.

Melissa and Ian at Ardoe House
On Sunday 2oth June, I photographed Melissa and Ian's wedding at Ardoe House. They had seen a dusk shot taken by me at Ardoe and wanted something similar. The problem in June is that it is not dark until very late so we used a shot from another wedding at Ardoe and added the couple using Photoshop. This is not perfect but gives the effect they were looking for. This certainly confirms that "the camera can lie" or certainly with Photoshop it can.
